MAAE Award Descriptions:

  • Honoray Membership:
    • This award is given to individuals who have shown committment to the MAAE. The Principal and Superintendent of the current MAAE President is nominated to receive Honorary membership.
  • Huber Professionalism Award:
    • This award is given to a teacher who has had a successful Agriscience program and been involved in our professional organization but has never had the opportunity to attend a national NAAE meeting. 
  • Outstanding Young Member
    • NAAE members who have completed at least three but not more than five years of teaching are eligible to apply.  Members who are currently in their sixth year of teaching are eligible to apply.
  • Teachers Turn the Key
    • NAAE members who have completed at least two but not more than four years of teaching are eligible to apply.  Members who are currently in their fifth year of teaching are eligible to apply.
  • Outstanding Ag Ed Teacher
    • NAAE members who are at the pinnacle of their profession – those who are conducting the highest quality Agriscience programs.
  • Outstanding Ag Ed Program
    • This award is available to recognize Agriscience teachers who are conducting outstanding programs.
  • Ideas Unlimited
    • This award area is designed to give NAAE members an opportunity to exchange classroom and other teaching ideas.  The idea may be original or borrowed and the application will show how the idea was used by the applicant as well as show how it could help others in their teaching.
  • Teacher Mentor
    • This award is designed to provide incentives for experienced teachers to become mentors for beginning teachers and it will also provide beginning teachers a way to say “thank you” to the experienced teachers who have influenced them.
  • Outstanding Service
    • This award recognizes current or retired NAAE members who have made significant contributions to Agriscience Education at the state, regional or national level.
  • Lifetime Achievement
    • This award recognizes retired NAAE members who have made significant contributions to Agriscience Education at the state, regional or national level.
  • Cooperation Award
    • This award is to recognize organizations, agribusiness companies and others who have given outstanding support to Agriscience Education.
